Default 92 Accord wheel studs: Sheared one off...

I know I need all four but do I really "need" all four if I will only be driving the car for the remainder of this winter? I broke one when I was putting the snow tires on and figured it would be a fairly cheap fix at the local tire store. NTB quoted $115 to replace it since they will require 1.3 hours to fix it. To get the front pads and rotors replaced and put the new stud was quoted at $328 plus tax.

The car is my winter beater and I would really like to refrain from dumping money into it if at all possible. How much risk would I be taking if I ran with only three studs? I don't want to take a chance with my life if it is really going to be that dangerous.

Any comments, tips, etc.?

Thanks,

Sam

yeah, i definatley dont want to tell you you will be fine, no problem, but ive personally done it for months on mine, and almost all of my friends cars are at least missing on wheel stud and they or i have never had any problems, but it really is not that hard of a fix if you have the proper tools...

That's the problem...tools. I took a peek at it and it looks like I will need the rotor off, which means I need to go through the whole process of disassembling them. Their pressed on and I don't have a press?

Dude, if you are only keeping it through the winter then don't be speeding anywhere and make sure not to do anything crazy. Drive like a normal person and don't do burnouts and all that crap. ALWAYS keep an eye on the other three.

If you are going to keep it though, get it fixed. Honestly, I've snaped 4 of mine, one on each tire but each time I've had enough still on there to re-thread the bolt and put the lug nut back on. So anyway, fix it if you're going to keep it. Watch out for it if you're going to dump the car.

all you need is basic tool, impact driver(10buck) and a Big ******* hammer

but again, 3 lugs will hold up, just make sure you torque them to 80lbs i know people driving like that for year

$115?!?!?! I got a wheel stud replaced for $20 something at a mom and pop shop and it's held up great. NTB is rippin' ya off on that quote.
