well lets see, if it has mods, then there could very well be a problem with the engine, if your car is stock and your asking this, just because the speedo goes to 140 doesnt mean the car can stock, and holding it at 120 and your wondering why your accord isnt running as well? YOUR RUNNING YOUR ENGINE RAGGED

maybe the fact that your trying to go over 120mph?

the only thing wrong is your head. who in there right mind would want to do that. i hope a cop pulls you over one day. going 60 mph over the speed limit = jail time buddy.

Next time it jerks downshift it, and it will make one last jerk. No more jerk problem. (in more ways than one)

to answer your queston, you are experiencing the speed governor that cuts the fuel when you reach a certain speed...though i don't recommend doing this, nor driving this fast, it can easily be removed...i'm not at liberty to tell you how though as i don't want to be the reason for someone else's death due to your dumbass driving...goodday sir...

with the way you seem to like to "push the limits", i doubt you drive responsibly.

its called a speed limiter and it wont let you go faster than 115 i thought

but you need to do some thinking about blowing a tire or somthing else ******* up not just other people

someone please tell me this is a joke, because this guy has to be the biggest douche bag ive ever seen, listen buddy, just because the roads are empty of cars, doesnt mean you could be driving "120" (hah yeh right) in your stock accord and your tire blows out, your swirve onto the side and hit a woman and her child while out of control still doing 80, they die instantly, see you dont think about this because your a selfish ricer who would risk himself and everyone around him for a thrill.

the point of people using nos and turbo, is the fact that they can cruise at 120 you dipshit, they dont have some stock car their trying to push to the limit, but you are beating the **** out of your car, why are you gonna try and cover yourself up saying you only do it once in a while, when you said "the car worked fine then it wouldnt go over 120" obviously youve been pushing your car alot, dipshit

i dont even mind turbo cars and high performance cars doing 100+ everyonce in a while, because they have the power to get to that speed fast and get off of it before hurting anyone and their car can handle going that fast, however, taking 25 minutes to get to 112 (your top speed as far as your governer goes) is dangerous because your holding it for such a long time, the car is not supposed to be going that fast. your an idiot who knows nothing about cars and pretty soon wont own a car at all

People like me want more power in their cars for passing. I like knowing I don't need a halfmile long stretch of nothing to pass a car doing 50mph. Not for getting myself on the edge of death. Have you ever seen what a car looks like after it hits a tree going 100mph? When the only thing you can Identify the car by, is one wheel, you don't even have to ask if the driver survived. You know better.

OT: when the car is going at 120... is it really bad for the engine? or wouldnt it just be the same as driving at 80 in 4th?

going a 120 is does not mean you are hurting the engine. think about it if the engine couldn't take those kind of speeds the governer would be lower. a car manufacture is not going to allow a car to go that fast knowing the engine and transmission couldn't take it. the speed limiter is there to protect the engine. i live in germany i knew a guy with a 94 accord ex drove that car to the limits for three years, never had a problem with proper maintenance you can push it.

The car manufacturer can't control everything. It can't stop you from going 50mph in reverse either, but I wouldn't advise it.

What you need to do to get it over 120mph is to down shift quickly into 2nd. This willl trick the ECU and bypass the 120mph gov. letting you reach 140mph
