STEERING NOISE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT
I have a squealing noise when I'm turning the steering wheel around corners at higher speeds. No one has been able to figure it out yet.....or fix it either.
Either it's the Power Steering Drive Belt that's loose / glazed, your Toe adjustment's way off or you've a really pissed off cat under your hood!
But without you being more specific with regards to:
MODEL
YEAR
I can't (and won't) be more specific.

Forget about the cat.
The only thing that changes under the hood when you turn is the load put on the Power Steering Pump. Either the belts loose (Screech), or the pumps cavitating (Whine).
If the noise changes over different road surfaces, check the 'toe' alignment specs
