d15b swap help. need help asap..
OK the car is a 93 dx civic. it had a d15b7 in it but that one blew. so the owner bought a d15b from atarco and wanted me to drop it in. got the new motor in but noticed the dizzy was different and it has something attatched to the head which i have never seen before(i'm a prelude guy). wondering if u guys can help me out here. also this car is going to be registered in cali so it needs to be able to pass smog.
Here's the pic of the dizzy and the other thing attached to the back of the head. can i plug that and swap dizzy's or do i have to swap the head?

up close pic

so i'm guessin this is a jdm motor?

distributor looks like nothing I've seen before and the second pic... that looks almost like a pre 90s style fuel pump
what is the date code on the front of the head?
circles with numbers in them just over the exhaust mani
I'm think he got something he's not wanting.

Yup, looks like a block-mounted, cam-triggered fuel pump. The tumor coming off the distributor could be a magnetic pickup of some sort for ignition timing.
Then again, without knowing exactly where it came from, we're all just stabbing in the dark.
