Expo 6 Poll - Would you go to VIR on April 17-18, Day after Easter
First off, I want to apologize for the delay in presenting information to everyone in regards to Expo 6. Most of the tracks that are candidates didn't finalize their 2006 schedules until just recently and others are still in the process. The top choices considering their size, location, safety, price, etc., are:
1. VIR North course on April 17/18 - the Monday/Tuesday after Easter only date available http://www.virclub.com/vir/
2. Gingerman Raceway - Home of Expo 2 (Dates N/A until after Thanksgiving)
3. Summit Point - Main (Dates N/A for a couple of weeks)
4. Back to the Beaver - I can already hear the slogan, "Back to the Beaver, just can't get enough"
- currently working on dates
These are our choices that the Expo Committee has finalized on when looking at all of the variables. Here are the choices, don't make up other choices:
11/19/05
Changed: 3. Summit Point "Shenandoah" to Summit Point "Main"

dates are not an issue for me as long as I have ample time to request time off.
I also will not go any farther west than MAM.
Ive heard a lot about VIR but never been, so cant choose based on never being there. But the date is fine with me.

I concur. A fun track for sure, but noobies pushing it will likely result in some body damage. VIR would be fantastic, Beaver would be only slightly less fantastic. Easter weekend would be fine with me as well. Gingerman looks like fun, but would depend on the date. During the semester for me at least would cause problems with a drive that far. The 6-7 hour haul for VIR is pushing it as it is, and I'd be willing only because VIR is so great.

IL is not west of the Mississippi at all.
Except for a tiny, tiny area around the small town of Kaskaskia (population: 9), an island accessible only by driving from Missouri and not drivable from the rest of Illinois. That area used to be east of the Mississippi, but in the 1800's they cut a channel to change the course of the river.

Just to clarify - by "more convenient dates", do you mean later in the season, or weekend dates rather than weekday dates? Or both? (I assume from the question that we have some confidence that we can actually get some more convenient dates from these other tracks.)
BTW, thanks for asking!

Its because he knows I'm lying about my stated location.

Both, weekends dates and later in the season - May/June time frame.

Expo 6 at Phakisa!

Expo 6 at Phakisa!

I plan on attending regardless of date or location, but I would appreciate a more "beginner friendly" track.
I will do my best to attend but it totally depends on the date. If it was the Monday-Tuesday right after Easter I could definitely make it, but I understand that most people could not. I vote for VIR but only because I can make the date. I'd be open to any track, as long as I can fit it around work.
I think that after the other courses open their schedules for events, the tracks should be listed and then we should vote.
I'd just love to make another Expo

I'm off that entire week in April!
When there is Expo there will be OPIE!
We need hotter chix @ Expo 6!

I am going to be there no matter where or when - but VIR sure sounds like a long drive from Denver...
