Arrive and Drive Endurance Karting.

There is an 8 hour (IIRC) Kart enduro at Lowes Motor Speedway every year on a schweet kart track in the infield.

All you do is show up with your gear and a check for something like $250.

If anyone wants to do this we can try to set up a date for 2006. I'm sure all you left coasters can fly enough guys out to field at least one team.
One of our teams will have a girl on it too.

If enough folks are interested I'll try to organize it. We've wanted to do this for a couple of years but just haven't managed to make time for it.

PS - I have dibs on Muresan and Puckett . I don't think Blake would even fit in a kart.

 

is the enduro any specific date or can you just pick a random date? sounds like a lot of fun.

How did you persuade Bookler to drive a kart?

 

I want in. I've been wanting to do one of those for awhile.

I call: Stewart, Newman, Gordon, Earnhardt.....and i guess ill drive to keep it entertaining. They race carts on a weekly basis here in charlotte.

 

I'm ***-u-ming you are talking about the Johan Schwartz (eheh, my schawrtz is bigger than yours) karting.
This year they had on ein april at lowes.
6 hour race, team of 3 to 6 drivers, $1580 per team ($263.33 per person, 6-driver team) -- 15 pit stops.

bring your own equipment, or rent on premises. Drivers NOT responsible for crash damage.

Thats it.
They've run at Lowes the past 3 years, so I'm assuming they'll do it again in '06.
No schedule out for next year yet, but it sounds like we can damned near take the thing over. I think its usually a summer date.

I'd suggest 6 person teams for 6 hours. The price stays low and an hour in a kart is PLENTY. I'm usually sore after 10 minutes.

Didn't see this thread until now, but I'm in. (As long as this falls during a weekend.) I'm 101% sure Phat S can't say no to this either. How about that guy who drives the orange pumpkin? Put me down as well for the “been wanting to do this for a long time” category. And I want to be on Ryan's team, he's real fast and on top of that he’s been getting practice in his new toy at the autoxes. Would definitely like to read more info on this.

Hell, we ought to get a local east coast day together at Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte over the winter. That place is a blast!
