Rebuilt D16Y8 Tranny with OBX LSD
I personally rebuilt this tranny. About 1500 miles on it. All new Honda OEM main and countershaft roller bearings. All new synchros 1-5 and reverse. All new seals. All new bearings. Every bearing possible in this tranny has been replaced. Also installed a OBX LSD. Machined down to be able to use stock OEM Honda shims. The only problem which was missed was I believe it could use a new 3rd gear synchro ring. The reason I say this is because at very high rpms, it makes a grinding noise. I got this info from reading other posts complaining about high rpm grinding in theyre B series trannys. It does go into gear no problem. I'm just saying for this thing to be absolutely flawless, I'd recommend changing the ring. I'm looking to get about $600. Seems alot? Used tranny was $125, OEM main and countershaft bearings $150, Rebuild kit (seals and all bearings) $200, OBX LSD $400
