- Remove Carpet (Back only)
- Remove Sound Deadening Tar and Firewall Matt
- Remove Knee Bolster

- Remove Spare Tire, Tools, and Jack
- Remove Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir and Pump (Including all Fittings)
- Remove Tow Hooks
- Remove Rear Wiper and Motor Assembly (Including all Fittings)

This is the list of either free or really cheap upgrades I plan on doing to my car while I am saving up for my engine swap. Is there anything you can think of to do to my car (1997 Civic Hatchback) that's either free or pretty cheap? This is all I could think of.

Has anyone ever done this stuff before... and can anyone make a walkthrough for it... I don't know if I'll be able to take my spare out without instuctions.

Remember I'm not flaming... I'm just helping state the obvious... You're more retarded than the special olympics.

Ummm... K... I was just asking if anyone can add to the list. Maybe someone has some experience that I haven't heard of yet any can suggest something useful? I am pretty much just bored and wanna do some stuff to the car to either A) make it lighter or B) make it look better or C) help the power a little. If you don't know of anything elseI can add to the list then don't act like a whiny bitch. I wasn't asking how to do it, I'm asking if anyone knows of other things I can do.

My 2 cents is..

A-like to have my spare tire, jack and tools in case i have a flat....

B-enjoy having A/C and Power steering because taking it out makes the car less fun to drive and no faster

all the other stuff is kinda silly too but if your bored have fun!

its not like these are revolutionary things that people have never done to their car before. its called weight reduction, its pretty common. i actually came up with all these things BY LOOKING ON HONDA-TECH. now i get flamed for wanting to do the same thing as others have done in the past? every day i lose a little more respect for honda-tech...

ok,
#1) A fuel cut off-switch prevents theft. (definate upgrade)
#2)depending on what you want, taking crap out of your car that makes it look good and sound better and be more comfortable may be important to most people. for me, lightweight and handling is more important. if i was going on a long trip, i'd take my cushy tacoma anyway. so, for ME weight reduction is a plus. (upgrade for ME)
#4) my trim is faded as hell and looks like **** so i am painting it. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=489625 (definate upgrade)
#5) synthetic 5w/ 30 oil is recommended by not only the honda manual, but my C-Speed Racing who use it and reccomend it for all honda engines.

Gut your car. Gut your doors (including windows). Take out glove box. Remove your entire exhaust after the header. Remove all the bumper supports. Strip the paint off. Shave your head. Shave your arms (with no windows, it will make a difference in your drag coefficient). Shave your armpits and unmentionables (every ounce counts).

And take a big healthy dump before you drive.

BTW, if you live in a climate where you see snow, you may wish to not bypass the intake coolant.

Otherwise, all of these "upgrades" are about as valid as any of the first listed.

only useful bit in that post. HT has gone down the drain and been infested by a bunch of jackasses who think that its cool to put people down over the internet. i'm poor, saving for a swap, and want to do sum cheap things to my car. its not a hard concept to understand. to any actual helpful people i have offended, sorry.

It's not the stuff you want to do, i think it has something to do with what you named the thread. People prolly checked it out hoping to learn something new and basically all you did was repost all the obvious ways to reduce weight and obvious things like paint touch up and oil. So, 1) you pissed people off when they see you are posting ****. 2) there is no point to the thread because they didn't learn anythign new. And 3) there is no real technincal info here. That's why you are getting flamed. You should have named it "Compiled list of Cheap/Free Things to do to your car" and asked people to add to it.

look man, expletive it

theyre just waving their internet ***** around.

everything you came up with is fine, so expletive it and expletive all the douchebags that make this forum so hostile...

that being said, you might try doing some headlight stuff. Im not too familiar with EK's so i dont know all the exact procedures, but id look into making them "look like CTR" lights or changing the housing or whatever the EK guys do.

to people who arent douchebags on the INTERNET

Well like I stated above, I wasn't flaming you... but I will agree that I came to this forum looking for something new that I hadn't thought about doing. None of which was on there... I've been flamed on HT, and so have many people here... being flamed is a part of the forum community... learn from your flameful mistakes and don't make them again. Or do what you should've done in the beginning, something smart.

he did nothing to deserve flaming. All he wanted was for someone to fill in things he may have overlooked. That doesnt show incompetence. He also didnt ask how to do any of it, im sure hes capable, just wanted other ideas.

whatever though.

Damn what a bunch of ********. Way to up your post count guys.

When you swap the engine, take off that useless bracket under the intake manifold. There's also a useless bracket connecting to the header right below it. Get rid of those metal vacuum/coolant lines between the intake and valve cover. They're ******* ugly.

Get a "rear diffuser" off a VX (EGs only).
