Default tires for 2003 accord

I need to replace two tires on my car. The current tire size is P205/60 R16 91V. Very few tire stores in my area have this tire. One store that does carry the tire is recommending I buy 215/55 (16?) 91V instead. The store claims honda is going to a 17 inch tire in the future and I will have an easier time finding 215/55 in the future. Does this make sense? Does it make sense to have different size tires on the front than on the back?

That would probably look real bad, especially if they are different diameter. If they are different dia. it would throw off the speedometer also. If they are the same dia. you need to change all four. I will try and check the diameters for you.

From what I just saw they are a tenth to a tenth and a half shorter and a good bit wider. The speedo might not be much off, but you will definitely be able to see the difference.

Don't forget about http://www.tirerack.com

I've never done it but I know somebody who has - you basically buy the tires there, either ship them to your house or to a tire place who you've worked this out with beforehand, and pay the tire place to balance / install them for you (and to dispose of the old tires).

That is an odd size. My '99's OEM tire size was 195/65R15, I can find those anywhere.

I don'y know where you went to buy the tires, but 205/60/16 is very easy to get. But if you want to know the difference in sizes, use this link.
