can i attain 200 whp with what i have listed?? opinions??
well, my goal is to get tp 200 whp.
I currently have a JDM b18c w/ aem cai, skunk2 manifold, JDM ITR headers, Clutchmasters stage III flywheel and clutch, Tanabe Hyper Medallion exhaust.
im curious what to do with cams because i want something that can be daily driven and be my weekend warrior. Ive seen a lot of guys get good results with the Jun III's. How practical are they for a car that is daily driven??? pending on if they will be ok for daily driving I was planning to go with those along with a Hondata program so I can get someone to modify my pr3 ecu on the dyno to get the maximum out of those cams. Other than that I was planning to get a FPR.
With JUN III's cams and camgears, springs, retainers, Hondata tuning, and a FPR along with lots of tuning on a dyno is it a feat that can be attained with those mods????

well first off if you really want to get 200whp youre going to have to spend money on dyno tuning youre car from a reputable shop. with the items youve listed youre not going to reach the goal that youve set yourself, no matter what the magazines say. 200hp out of our 1.8L engines without F/I is going to take a lot more than that...it includes but is not limited to big t/b, port matched intake manifold, cams designed for highly tuned n/a applications like jun-3 or toda spec b, valves and valve springs, high compression pistons (11:1 to 11.5:1), head work, and some really really good exhaust...JDM exhausts have the 2.5in collector which is a whole *** load better than any header made in the US (of which have to be CARB legal meaning they can only get as big as 2.25in) a Carsound catalytic converter and a cat-back thats 2.5in allt he way to the muffler. after that you wanna spend a whole lotta time tuning... and if you REALLY wanna spend money (and time) you might want to consider increasing the displacement from 1.8L to 2.0L , all in all you would be looking at.....$3000 or $4000 depending on what products you buy and how much labor youre charged.

well i can boost my compression a little by getting a spoon one layer head gasket. what kind of high compression pistons do you recommend?? type r, arias?? what else. by the way thanks for the replies.
I really don't agree with most of that. With the right valve train and ecu, along with good tuning and your current mods, i believe you would hit the 200 whp mark. i TOTALLY agree of the 2.5" collector and cat-back though... very true. 11.5:1 CR would be ideal, 12:1 if your local gas stations and wallet permit. Port and polish, I'd say stage 2 or 3, with a 3 to 5 angel valve job and oversized valves would help a lot. i'd also look @ the toda spec c's... very comperable to JUN IIIs from what I've seen.
Your going to have to get higher compression pistons in order to hit 200whp...I'm only getting 175 w/ the toda B's...
anything higher than a 11.5:1 CR i would seriously be thinking of re-sleeving your cylinders....pressures will get up REALLY high with that kind of ratio and if you push it, the walls will crack. also think about new connecting rods, rings, and reliable people installing all that crap
