auto to manual Center shaft question?

auto to manual Center shaft question?
I need to know for sure...I have a YS1 CABLE tranny for a 90 integra 4dr and I need to know FOR SURE if im gonna need the Manual Center shaft...or is it the same as the one thats in an automatic.....I know people have doine it using the auto shaft........if they are different how so? TIA
