remote died.. urgent help needed!
i have the clifford rs3. my car is armed and seems like my remote is not responding.. im at work far away from home and have no clue how to get into my car later. i changed the battery on the remote and the "RX" antenna stays lit.. there is no response when i press arm or unarm. can someone tell me how to manually turn off the alarm if i opened the door with my keys? please, detailed steps.. i don't want my alarm to sound all day and no be able to turn it off.. thanks!
btw, i'm downloading the clifford manual now, but their site is so f*ckin slow for some reason. ugh...

i had a similar problem where I had to knock the pager device a few times to arm/disarm it. I ended up keeping it disarmed and lock and unlock it with my key. Ive been meaning to hit up a audio/security place in the next few days by to see if they can work on it.

I see you already know how to get the owners guide, good luck

the battery is new. in fact, it's when i changed the battery (this time) that caused the remote to not function. even with the new battery in, the battery life indicator is stuck at the life level of the old battery's. and the "RX" stays lit as well. never seen this before as i had this alarm for years already, going thru dozens of battery changing. well, i turned it off manually already, but it was not fun bc it took me a while to get it off. and i hate unlocking/locking with my keys, so inconvenient.
should i just order a new one or should i go thru warranty exchange? i've had this unit for 3+ years now. thanks!

If the warranty on DEI is the same in the US as in Canada you only have 1 year warranty on the remote.
You can get another remote and program it into the alarm, I am trying to check now but I think you could get a more basic, [non 2way] remote for that unit also, may be worth picking one up along with the 2way one just as a backup.
Programing the remote is in the install guide, and as you have noticed down loading from DEI can be very slow.

PS it looks like only the 2way remote will work on that unit, but here is a link for the install guide http://www.directed.com/guides...4.pdf

finally got a new remote replacement. i didn't bother to contact dei abt warrnty replacement bc i doubt the remote was covered under the warranty as i was advised by those on this forum as well as ppl from the stores i asked.
got the matrix rs3.5 2-way responder. cost me $130+ after tax and programming.. quite pricey, but it's better than having to lock/unlock with the key. when i had this alarm installed years ago, i was told i cannot program more than one 2-way responder (nor regular remote) for this alarm system. however, when i went to this shop over the weekend, they told me i can program more than 1 2-way responder and up to 4 regular remotes for this alarm. wonder why best buy told me otherwise years ago. hmm...
btw, anyone knows where i can find the guide for this remote? i asked the guy there, but he said there's no manual/guide for it. wonder how i would set-up the way this remote works (backlit, audible or silent, etc). and what is that "P" button on the back of the remote?
