Here is my DIY:

Step:
1. Buy plane ticket to Japan
2. Board plane with said ticket
3. Get off plane and take taxi to Japan Honda
4. Buy bulbs for cluster from said Honda
5. Buy another plane ticket home
6. Get on plane with said ticket (again)
7. Go home and install
8. Enjoy your newly fantabulous GAYDM cluster

You can take that in any context you wish.

you know when JDM has gone tooooo far when your amber colored cluster is not JDM enough and you need a lighter shade of amber to prefectly match a real JDM car.

"Is that JDM enough for you?"

"No, a little darker please, its not JDm enough"

"How about now?"

"Damn, it's too dark"....*crying* "I'll never be JDM!"

The bulbs don't make the cluster amber, the gauge faces do.

I have an EG6 cluster in my car without any amber condomed bulbs. I had EK4, EM1, and DC2 clusters. They all do not have amber condoms. Only the EG6 climate control had amber condoms. If you take an EG6 gauge out of the housing and hold it up to a light, you'll see amber.

I had an EG6 cluster in my hand and went thru all those bulb behind and I never saw a single orange bulb!

Whatever!

Since I'm not a fan of the White face cluster, I decided to change my stock Si cluster to light up amber but not by painting the bulb.

I bought the 99-00 Si bulb(they come w/ orange condom + the socket)

The socket on the stock cluster(EG) are bigger then the one from the EK or CRV so you cannot really retrofit them in your stock cluster.

What I did, I removed the orange condom and I'd put them on the original EG bulb.
They won't cover entirely the bulb, but it will light up amber!

It's not the cheapest mod to have the amber lightning, but painting them and have the chance to see more red lightning then amber was worth it,imho!

I'll try to have a picture.
