Default At least it was a large success with a small failure....or a couple...whatever.

IT'S ALIVE MUHAHAHAHAHAhaha

So it started up on the first turn, idled great. I was waiting for something to fall off or blow up but nothing....

Let it idle and warm up, then shut it down and changed the oil. Went to start it again and nothing. The battery that sat for 4 months gave up the ghost I guess. Jumped it and was out on the road. On the way to the gas station I stalled twice. Once by turning on the headlights (no juice) and again by letting the rpms drop too fast at a stop sign. Got jumped twice and then got some gas.

Drove into the park for some on throttle off throttle break in. On my second lap these jokers in a pontiac thought I was trying to "race" them, I guess. They did a couple flybys so I just pulled over and let them go.

The the idle started to fuctuate real bad, and the boost gauge read 18 vaccume instead of 22ish. Thought I had a vaccume leak and sure enough found one of the plugs I had made for a spare line had come off. Fixed that and was on my way again.

Then, just as I was about to leave the park and go home, my gf was all like "WTF??? Look at your oil pressure gauge!!!" It was down on 0. But the idiot light wasn't on. I had had problems with that gauge before, so I thought it was trippin on me again. Babied her into a parking lot and snooped around, felt oil on the bottom of the pan. Killed the engine right away and called a tow. While I was waiting I got out my flashlight and poked around some more.

One of the plugs in my oil pan had fallen out.

So, I the car ran with basically no pressure for about 2 minutes. And the engine bay I had cleaned for a whole day while the engine was out is once again coated with 5-30. fukc.

Oh well. Hopefully nothing got damaged. I'll plug the hole, start her up again, and then do a compression check. I think it'll be ok.

Sure did pull like a champ though

pics and bla bla bla later, when I'm not so tired.

Glad its running at least. I'm beginning to think your engine bay is destined to be covered in oil. Perhaps you should dump a quart or 2 all over your engine before starting it again and everything will hold together since there would be nothing for it to saturate.

Again glad she's up and running.

I guess you gotta expect to run into a few snags. You should thank your girlfriend for spotting the gauge!!... she saved you quite a bit of money

Good luck on getting her to up and running smoothly

Glad to hear you got it running. Sorry to hear about the problems but I guess a few bumps are to be expected. I'd love to hook up, check out the car and go for a cup-a-joe downtown sometime.

PS - If you feel your O/P guage is giving you any grief, I have an Autometer Ultra-Lite I can give to you for FREE

You got a good one.

I hope the brief loss of oil pressure didn't cause any damage.

You got a good one, my wife isn't as observant. She would have just said "Your car is broken."

Damn right he got a good one. The last girl I dated couldn't tell the difference between my daily driver and my race car. They're not even the same color.

Uberdata that was dialed in on the same psi on my original motor. Tuned to perfection

I know. She helped a bit with the build too. No one has been more supportive.
