I never considered buying an R due to obvious reasons (theft, insurance, practicality), but then I got the opportunity to own one and decided I would rather have one than always wonder what it would have been like to have one. Now I've had it, it's an amazing experience, and I can't wait to get another one, but not right now. That's my reason for selling

If I needed the money for education, family or something like that, then I would sacrifice [my sanity] and let her go.
At this point, 6 years in, I'm so attached that I'd be miserable if I had to sell now or later. Where I live, the car just isn't a burden like it is in other parts of the country. That makes a huge difference.

I do now but one's FS. Reasoning? Well in order to pay for things on one car, I need to sell the other.

are you serious?
i think R is very practical. what other car can carry 4~6 passengers that are also capable of carrying 13 wheel/tires?
if you want to talk about practicality, look at NA1/NA2, AP1/AP2
after getting my car totalled by some ****
, i went and grabbed AP1
i can't even recline the seats...... carrying passenger/luggage isn't option.
i really really miss my R

The people who bought them brand new have been driving them for over 5 years now.
I love mine, but at the same time, thats a long time to be driving the same car. I kinda want something different...
Theres nothing wrong with it. 100% practical. Moreso than anything else I would consider. The insurance is less then any other car I would consider owning. Its extremely reliable. The theft problem is nothing like it used to be. Theres no good reason not to own it other then just being tired of the same thing.

I don't think I will ever sell mine. It's a blast to drive and in the long run, I'd love to turn it into a track dedicated car or just drive it until its dead. Theft isn't a huge issue here in Omaha, Nebraska (Knocks on wood). Insurance must not be an issue either ( I'm 23 yrs. old and pay $550/6months for full coverage w/ $500 deductible). I can't really think of any other car I'd rather own short of spending $30,000+ which I don't have because we are building a house. I love daily driving the car and it will be paid off in April
I will get variety as soon as we get our Mini Cooper S which will be the wife's car.
Anyway, I don't know why everyone is selling their Type R's. I've had mine for 3 yrs + and I can't think of a day when I didn't enjoy the car.

I've put mine through 5 winters, with last winter being pretty bad.
I would go out 30 minutes after an snow/sleet storm started and then come home in the middle of the night with just me and the snow plows on the road. The R is awesome in the snow if you have good snow tires.

there are so many for sale because type r owners dont' sleep well when they know theives are trying to steal there cars.
i take it back,
If you own a garage and a serta matress, i'm sure you sleep just fine.

considering the how ridiculously well they maintain their resale value right now and the fact that there are so many crazy fast new cars coming out this doesn't surprise me. i wish i had the $$ to buy a type r a couple years ago... you can't beat driving a car that awesome for several years and then turning around to sell it at almost no loss.
the whole theft thing obviously factors in as well.

Upgrade to a more practical car, money, theft, etc. There are many reasons why one would choose to sell.
Personally, I've grown WAY too attached. Plus all the $$$ I've thown into the car. If it came time for me to get a "practical" car I'd just buy another car and park the R.
