Pretty much the Greddy kit with all the fixins should get you into low 14's high 13's if tuned. I've been driving mine for 4years with the kit, through freezing chicago winters and all summer long...daily driven.

modding an ex motor is cool if you cannot afford a motor swap.
there are a lot of parts available that will help hp and torque

well im not planning to go all race modified. i just want something reliable and at the same time perform well as well. im more into the show aspect of the scene. but also do have a need for speed. but the budget right now is low so ill settle for my ex right now. b series maybe in the near future.

Why bother building it up if you are planning on a B-series motor in the near future?

To answer your question, the EX motor is "good" for modding, but will fall short of the B-series engines. Bottom line, you got the money, swap...if not, turbo. Don't make the same mistake I did by going with the intake/header.

umm if he has money for a turbo he has money for a swap. and a swap is more reliable than a turbo. dont blow any money on the motor if your thinking of swapping. the ONLY mod i had for my engine was an intake wich transfered over to my new motor.

Any efforts to modify the EX motor is a complete waste of time and money. Save your money and go DOHC.

i gotta ex too. i was in the same boat as you not too long ago. i have the basic mods already but i wanted to go faster. i keep telling myself i would keep the motor and work with it. (was tryin to save for a turbo). it was goin for a while then i said **** it and converted my "turbo money" to my "swap" money. imma just get a b16. ill be happy with that for a hot minute.

the only reason im thinkin ( just thinkin ) SOHC is because its a good platform for someone like me who is just starting to get into the import/domestic scene. i know a lot of info so far because of some of the reaserch that ive done. being a workin student is hard ( for those who cant relate, u know what im talkin about ) and savin up for a good b series motor is hard especially when u got phone, rent, car and insurance bills to pay for every month. so im just trying to be practical here, ill go for the one more suitable in my suitation and when the big bucks come in then ill concentrate on doin some serious modifiying. besides imonly 19, i got a lot of time. so to u all, thankx for the info and if u have anymore helpful info thankx alot. peace.

i know wat you are sayin man. it is hard when you got other things to worry about. just do wat you can. nothin big just start of with the bolt ons then get some springs/coilovers (watever you like) and put a nice drop on your car. try to find si or gsr stocks and you will be set for a while. just keep it clean.

The D16Z6 engine is a TQ strong engine with only small mods and for the ones how wanna do it right !! it will be as good as any B16.... but yes the B16 is much easyer 2 get alot off *** kickin´ HP out off !!! but dont underestimate the power of a SOHC S16 or D15......... peace....
