Default Got Tuned up Today

Hey guys, got all tuned up at Jeff Evans tuning today. Hes a great guy and really knows his stuff, car runs awesome. I forgot to ask for a print out of the dyno plot. I am gonna email them and ask if they can send me one to post up. But heres what I made.

WHP: 192
FT/LBS: 140

Curves looked great, vtec crossover is smooth. Car sounds great. Only thing that sucks is my header is HOLDING ME BACK ALOT. Jeff thinks I could see around 15-20 more wheel with a SMS header.

Mods:
Portflow P&P head,
TI retainers
Toda Spec C cams,
Toda cam gears,
Toda valve springs,
CTR .25 pistons,
rc 310 injectors,
aem fuel rail,
Fidanza aluminum flywheel,
Act hdss clutch,
dc jdm 4-1 header
SMSP 2.5" Test pipe
SMSP custom 2.5" ss cat back exhaust
injen short ram intake
hondata S100

jdm red stitched shift boot
s2000 engine start button
custom mounted vafc
jdm rear upper strut bar

Yea they are pretty good... But considering the cams and build I honestly expected over 200... Header should help out alot... the torque curve was very flat.. made great torque throughtout. Jeff should be posting the plot up withing a day or two i believe.

Looks good. Congrats on getting her tuned up. Toda C's must make sick power up top Redline? vtec x-over?

Just out of pure curiousity, why do you have the Hondata s100 and a VAFC? Never seen that before

The VAFC only is there to read and monitor... the vtec wires, and what not are not connected AT ALL to the hondata.. they are just chilling there. I bought the R like this man? I dunno haha. VAFC looks cool though haha

Not neccessarily true... Jeff was saying that sometimes too small of a header with too big of a cam can cause you to lose some power you otherwise would have made. I should get at least 205-207 wheel with this setup and a better header.

SMS headers make silly gains even on stock motors. I wouldn't be surprised to see 10-20hp difference. Don't make me go find George's old chart...

Number's seem a lil low to me for what you have...I definately think you'll benefit from a better header

When I have a car worth tuning it's going straight to Jeff

Sorry, but you won't get 20whp from a header. The SMSP header should put you right at 200whp. Nice torque from a 1.8. I'd like the see the graph.

I think that when you're beginning to tune the car, items like an intake, header and full exhaust make a huge difference in the readings you'll get on a Dynojet.

Then the compuer you add will give you a huge seat of the pants boost because you are able to extend the torque over a wide range and increase power to the absolute best.

Then you're a little disappointed when you start adding cams and compression because you've already done the most cost effective things.

My car pushed 185 with bolt ons, but was still only at 191 when the computer went in.

After the rebuilt and slightly raised compression, it was at 185 on a Dynapak which I was told would be about 210 on the same Dynojet that was used for the other readings.

All of this was with stock Type R cams, but they were moved around of course.

Good numbers, t00ts. Once I get a new blower and the motor is.. well.. fixed, we have a score to settle..

sorry but thats not true. Jeff was saying he saw near a 20 wheel gain on a stock engine (forget which series) from Daves header. Maybe not 20 on mine but maybe 15 ihope
