2001 type r
okay my friend had a 2001 acura type r painted phoenix yellow.. it was the fastest jdm engine in this city.. well anyways he had a msd kit.. i don;t know which one but he refuses to let me in on the secret... he has apexi exhaust..
anyways the car would spark and the make a loud sound like a gunshot... it was sick.. he would do it whenever he wants.. i think all he did was rev up and pump clutch or something.. i know its not a flamethrower kit.. i told him my boy said it means its back firing.. well he did admit it was at 1st.. but he got it fixed and its not backfiring thats causing it.. backfire would make the car run like **** but i drove it.. it drive so ******* smooth..
he refuses to tell me what he did now... today i seen another civic at a stoplight.. creeping forward a lil bit while reving up and all u see is a spark followed by multiple gunshot sounds.. its ******* sick.. i like it,,
one of my boys said its the msd kit.. it lets u do it whenever it wants..
anyone has any idea on this or know how to do it?

Its a simple exhaust hinge that you mount to your fluxuation capacitor. I might have one laying around, and if you want it I'll make you a pretty sweet deal. Let me know.
Quit being silly. We all know that if you tighten the piston return springs, the VTEC valves will open a little bit during the power stroke making a big pop and allowing flames to fly out the exhaust.

Yes this is true but first you must make sure your headlight fluid is topped off and that your muffler bearing is free.

Just because you drove the car and it felt 'smooth', doesn't mean it's necessarily running right. Judging by the fact that you are asking this question in the first place, I am going to venture out and say that you probably aren't the best person to be diagnosing an engine. He's probably having a fuel management issue, and unburned fuel is getting into the exhaust. As the exhaust pipe heats up, the extra fuel ignites, causing the sounds you are hearing.

FWIW my friends ITR used to pop the way he is talking about when he would play with his 2 step while winding down his RPM's. It was real loud and caused his cat and exhaust to blow out too.
okay is it safe? how do i set it up so my car backfires..
also how is it that he gets it to make the pop sound when he wants.. let me know.. dub c tl you have been of much help..

Dude, drop it. Its not healthy, it sounds like ****, and you probably wont be able to make it happen if you have no clue why it happens. Leave it alone, this is getting a bit ridiculous.
