Default DA9 Woes Help Appreciated

My friend is having many issues with his DA9 and I'm trying to help him out, any advice would be excellent and greatly welcomed. He's having a problem with overheating (his model is between the 89 and 90 years, has half 89 parts, half 90, and badged as the later year) and has tried nearly everything to help the situation. So far, the following has been replaced:

New radiator
New thermostat
New hoses
Flushed the entire system
New fans (both A/C and cooling based)
New water temp sensor

Largely the entire cooling system has been replaced. However, he's still having issues with his temps (according to the stock temp gauge) during idling at lights, upon accel the temp rises temporarily and then begins progressing back down. It also rises during prolonged load periods (up hills, etc). The car is an automatic, if that would help at all (he already knows about the safety switch issue on the transmission).

Thanks for any help,

Justin

I had a similar problem... it turns out my radiator cap was leaking. When I drove it normal through town or wherever it was fine but once I beat on it a bit and then sat at a traffic light the temp went sky high until i hit the gas to 3k or so. I guess the leaky cap was causing an air bubble in the cooling system. I would check for air gaps in the system. Make sure you use the bleader screw cuz thats what helped me
