So I just got me a Backyard special bumper for my 1999 EK4 from takakaira.com. I then try to put my OEM Honda grille in the bumper, and it does not fit. The grille is to long. I then test fit the bumper on the car. And is cant reach to fender wheels where you mount it. I then email takakaira about this. And they tell me the shipped the right bumper, telling me i got the wrong car wft.

So do anyone know what the problem would be if you tried to put on a 96-98 bumper on a 99-00 model? Just to make sure I’m right.

 

the front ends are different form 96-98 to 99-00. different headlights, fenders, hood, bumper, grille, etc......That is where your problem is. If you have a 99-00 you need that bumper....Also the 99-00 Si models are different than the ex,dx, front ends and so on...

 

I just got a 1999 jfm grille also. And it fit the car, and aligne perfectly with the hood. So the bumper must be the wrong one.
