Default How often do you go over your bike?

Just curious to see how often everyone goes over all the bolts and nuts on their bike.

I know my Dad tells me to do it before everytime i ride but since it's my daily right now I usually only go over it about every tank of gas (150 miles) and it seems here lately everytime i go over it i'm putting in new farring bolts. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Oh yeah this is on a 05' GSXR 600 20th Anv. Edition

when you say before every ride, how long are your rides? when i get my bike it will be mostly for commuting, like to work or a friends house. none of my closer friends have a bike and won't for a long time, so i won't be going out on any long rides.

I just check the big stuff - chain, tires, controls.

The myriad bolts are checked about once a week.

And +1 on the LocTite.

before I jump on ANY bike I go over the main safety items... the controls, the axles nuts/chain adjuster, the brakes and mounts, shifter/brake, steering stem. I don't get the tools out, I just grab them and see if there is ANY play or signs of wear... Pilots do this same "walk around" before firing the engine...

<------- Grimmaces at this thought....

I bought my bike in July-ish.....have put 1000 miles on it......haven't checked a single thing...... ever. Wait, I replaced the radiator fan fuse, does that count? This Friday on my day off I'm taking out the tools and going over all the nuts, axles, chain, tires, etc.

God I'm an idiot.
