I'm looking at an ek hatch with an unpainted engine bay and bottom of the hood.

he says they came like that from the factory???

i say bullshit.. please prove me wrong. I'm looking to buy this car.

If EGs and EF bays are painted the same color, I'm sure EKs are too

 

They always come painted...think about it the entire shell is sprayed one color from the factory before any parts are put in it. This guy is lying.

 

If the engine bay is white and the rest of the car is silver then the car has been painted before. Just look closely around the wheel well and side skirt area. These are areas that most shops will miss when masking before painting the car. If you see over spray on the fender liner, etc. then the car has definately been painted before.

Uh....actually for Silver EK's... the factory engine bay color is kind of "off" from the rest of the car.

People are right for the other colors, it should match.

But its not rare that silver EK's have a bay color that isn't "right", from the factory. I have seen this a lot.
