anyone know what a good o2 sensor to replace? is bosch good?

 

it will work fine and is much cheaper than getting one from the dealership

 

i would go with Denso

yea i would stay away from bosch, Denso would be my choice

 

I've been using a Bosch for about 1.5yr and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever.

 

I used bosch when i put my header on and i have no problems with it.

 

I used bosch on my VW and it was fine....put one on my civic and it threw a cel 3 months later. Got a denzo off ebay new for $60 and its been running fine for over two years now.

 

i used bosch on my turbo civic for a while, they are fine.

All these people are going to post that they suck and this and that but i have ran multiple boach sensors (WITH HONDATA!) with no issues! so i have no clue what everyone is talking about.

I personally am using a factory honda o2 (waaayyy to much $$) just cause im paranoid and running turbo and blah blah.

But if you just need another o2 snesor, get bosch, save the money. Unless you have some type of race setup going.

 

honda's tend to run rich on Boshe O2s and the O2s tend to not last as long.
I stick with Denso or NGK.

Do you have a report on that? I'm only speaking from personal experience. Last time I took my car in for some work the plugs were pulled and inspected and not one of them showed signs of lean or rich conditions. Keep in mind my engine has 162,000 miles on it and getting 40+ mpg. When it comes to Bosch plugs in your Honda, that's a completely different story.

 

same here, personal experience only.
Three cars that I worked on this year suffered from poor fuel mileage(~20mpg) and funky idle after installing Boshe O2. (wideband showed across the board rich conditions)

Swaped in a NGK O2 and everything was back to normal. (wideband showed normal and 30+ mpg came back)

all three were DOHC swapped civics. 1-OBD1, 2-OBD2.

One other person I know was having the same problem, I told him to switch to a Denso that he had sitting there and he said it worked a ton better.


maybe it's this area, maybe it's dumb luck. But I've never worked on a honda with a Boshe O2 that ran great.

 

is the denso universal good?
