Default car shakes when I brake!

Any input will be worth it! My car shakes everytime I brake if im going over 30 MPH. Anything lower than 30 the car brakes fine. But anything over 30 MPH, the car shkaes like crazy when I step on the brakes. I have no idea what the problem is.

cool thanks for the info. I was going to take the car in for an alignment and possibly find out what the car had if the alignment could not be done.

So do you guys think I should change the rotors and the pads before doing the alignment since I'll probably need an alignment after I change the rotors and pads.

Or should I take the car for an alignment before changing anything?

when did the car last have an alignment, and does it need it? replacing your pads and rotors has nothing to do with an alignment, do it in whatever order you want.

I cant recall the last time my car had an alignment, I just wanted to make sure that the rotors and the pads were the source of the problem.

just go get some autozone rotors. like 15 bux each. they work well too.

autozone rotors =

duralast lifetime warranty brake pads =

the pads suck, save your money and get better pads from elsewhere.

yeah i'm gonna go with everyone on this one and say warped rotors, or pads whatever. i bought my rotors off of ebay, the OEM size cross-drilled Brembo ones for 100 bucks, and god dam those things can stop. i have a non ABS car with only front brakes and my sh#$ can stop on a dime. i also bought AEM pads for 50 bucks from http://www.sportcompactonly.com. but if in the case it wasn't your brakes by some crazy chance, i'd say motor mounts, cause that has happened to a couple people i know and my friends car would shake real bad and actually start accelerating again after he let off the gas.

Exactly. This was the case on my Accord, new rotors fixed it.

cool, I found the brembo rotors for about a 100 an ebay. My only question is that I have a 99 Civic HX and the rotors state they fit an Ex. Will thee Ex rotors fit my HX? Also, they dont say the size of the OE rotor, it just states it is, I just want to make sure I dont get scamed. And do they install just like the OE ones?

i'd talk with 88rotors before you buy ebay brembos...lots of fakes out there. He'd be able to answer all your questions, and they are having a killer deal. No i don't work for them.

Your rotors are warped, you can either get nice ones....or for even cheaper go have them resurfaced at your local shop. It'll probably take all day though, but go ahead and get new pads and make sure you use the same ones you always buy or else your prolly going to experience problems.

any machine shop or even Schucks parts store can resurface rotors in an hour or so. In no way should it take all day

You've got warped rotors.....and if its that bad your pads are likely toast as well. Invest in some Brembo blanks and Nissin pads. You'll love em.

i wouldnt buy the rotors of ebay. if you look in the sponsor section, they have OE brembos for $51 shipped. Personally, i like the blanks better. There is also a thread out there stating that blanks are better the slotted or drilled. im too lazy to find it. But i wouldnt buy them off ebay cuz alot of poeple just buy the OE Brembos and drill them. It can crack and BOOOM! there goes your car. I just put on my new rotors and brake pads yesterday, and everything is kosher. good luck
