Default Looking for information on roll bar kits.

Looking into an 8 point roll bar kit (weld myself), firstly, i'm looking for where to buy one, secondly, i'm wondering if the cage has to be put in from inside the car, or if i can weld it outside, paint it, then put it in afterwards. I don't want to weld it in the car and catch the interior on fire and i really don't want to strip the interior and put it back in. I also want to paint it to keep my welds from rusting.

hahhahaha... i believe you do have to gut the full interior then weld fromt eh inside... you can do some of it outside first but you cannot have the full piece ready and expect it to fit in your car...

it you want a anti-roll kit i can get you one... i have eibach kits... hahaha... hope i helped...

You could do all your welding from the outside if you wanted to. You would just have to use a sleeve type system, and bolts. However if you want it fully welded w/o joints, then yes it will have to be welded inside the car...

For SFWD and T4 you need to weld plates into your chassis for the roll cage. Honestly only way to do it to compete in anything you need to have it gutted then put in the interior.

They are a HT sponsor, and they sell pre-fab weld-in and bolt-in cages and bars.

Their 8 point kits seems good.

I need to research cage requirements before making a decision though. I'll probably do this when Spring comes back around.

What is the reasoning for a cage anyway? Judging from your comments it's purely about the bling factor. If you're looking to keep full interior, obviously it's not a track car. With any 8 point cage there's no way to keep full interior, your back seats would be useless. Don't waste your time and money if all you're going to do is impress your friends. Cars are designed with crumple zones for a reason.

I want to keep full interior if i can, but if i have to remove the back area, so be it. It'll be mainly street driven, but i'm planning racing it frequently, hopefully at road courses if i can get a good enough paying job for a license and $300 a day track time.
