looking for new tires... would like input/help
I have a 92 turbo hatchback thats stripped in the rear and is putting 260 to the wheels. i have rt-215s on it now, but they're basically bald.
so... i was looking at either the Hankook Rs2-z212 z rated tires, or some falken azenis rt-615's. I would like some tires like these, but would also like them to last for a little while. What do you gusy think about these tires, like are they worth 400 bux for 4? and how long do you think they will last on my car. Im going to be using these tires spring through to fall. (if they make it).
if anyone wants to suggest another brand/model please do.

Well, that's the downside with the RT-615 - their rapid treadwear. There's no free lunch. The RT-215 typically last 9-12K miles on an ITR. I don't know anyone who has gone through an entire set of RT-615, but their treadwear rating is the same as the RT-215.
If you're looking for longer treadlife, but you still want great performance to get the most out of your high-horsepower application, I recommend the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which come in 195/50-15 (which is the best size for your car if you have 15" wheels). They're grippier than any other street tire except the Falken. They have the highest user survey results of all 24 tires in the Tire Rack's top performance category. And they just won the tire test in the current (December) issue of Car and Driver (they beat the Hankook, among other tires, although the Falken wasn't in the test). At $85 each for 195/50-15, they're a bargain, too.

anybody else run these tires?
i did research on them and they do seem very good.. but everyone talks about how good they are in the wet traction category.. would people also say that they perform really good on dry surfaces too? anyone know how these would compare to my rt-215's?

The T1R was absolutely awful in the tire test in the December Car and Driver (the test in which the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 won and the Hankook Z212 came in fifth). Here's what they said about the T1R:
"In fact the Proxes never placed higher than eighth in any test, and in two dry tests, the autocross and the skidpad, the Toyo finished last, trailing the top finishers by significant margins. In some tests it felt better than it actually was performing, but overall, Geswein noted it was 'soft and imprecise' and didn't 'feel like a sport tire'. In the end, the Toyo has its high wear grade (280) and attractive price ($135) to thank for its eighth-place finish. In performance terms, there are lots of tires that do better."
