SWAP
ok so i have a 1999 LS.... clean as *****... no dents been garaged forever ect... and i want to know what are the CONS about swapping a k20. my second choice is a b18c5. i know the b18 would drop in no prob. and would my V2 intake fit on a b18 even tho i bought it for the LS??help me pleaseee
Your LS is a b18.
And besides the price, as Kendall mentioned, the other con is that you live in California. The police no likey the weird looking swap if they pull you over.

K20 would be pretty cool but also very expensive and harder to do. I would save some cash and put either the b18c5 since it will just drop right in. Or you could take the same amount of cash and do an LSVTEC with some bolt-ons. Just be careful about the lsvtec, make sure it is done right if you do it.

Yes. If any police officer pulls you over he can ask you to pop your hood and look at your engine. If your exhaust is too loud, if most any engine modification is not C.A.R.B. certified, if you have a swap, if you're car is too low, he can write you a ticket for a big fine and send you to the referee, where you HAVE to be legal.

that cali stuff is rediculous...in chicago/illinois u can't get a ticket for any of that junk, but u can get a ticket for exhaust being to loud...but ride height and stuff isnt an issue u can even have a bottle in ur car that is in plane view as long as the bottle isnt open and or its not connected to ur intake...they try to be tough and write u up for that ****...but its legal...as a matter of fact my buddy got pulled in his 01 gsr and the cop pulled out the tape measure, and he said what the hell are u doing...the cop goes...ur car is too low...and he said for what state? not this one..so dont even think about it...it was pretty funny.
