My 89 Accord
Ok hey all, ive have a few questions on my 89 accord. I've been looking around for the engine type, so fisrt off its an 89 accord 4dr,lxi, or here in canada its says exi on the trunk, it has power everything, and a programed fuel injected engine, i have replaced a few parts like starter, alternator, ball joints, now it needs cv shafts, but my question is the engine and type what can i replace it with? the body is great! no rust and id like to keep the car for as long as possible but im new and need help! so the model of the engine would be a good help ive entered my vin on many web pages to find info on this car but it is from hamilton ontario canada! it has 220,000 kms and runs great, just wanna get the info for my future mods! thanks for your help JUSTIN79
Your car comes with an A20. Visit http://www.3geez.com . You'll find a lot more info there than you will here
I just did a 5 sp tranny swap on my SE-I.
Justin I have two axles for an A/T 3rd gen accord if interested. They are in good shape and I would take an offer and work out shipping. Many feedbacks on ebay if it matters.
You could replace your engine with a Prelude of same era. Not sure what gen but I think 2nd. They have the same basic A20 series engines with more kick and better tranny gears.

hey thanks for the reply, i live in canada so im sure shipping would be up there! one other thing is the the side passenger door trim on the exterior of the car came off, and for the life of me i cant find the proper clips!!! any pointers on how to get my car looking great again? i plan to post a pic in my profile of it soon it looks great! had the rear panels redone as the rain and salt in ontario roads get the best of the body! so once again thanks for the help! I have found majestichonda.com has the best dealer prices and decent shipping. That is if you want stock clips. they shouldn't be too expensive and your local dealer could probably get them.
