How did you install your race seats? (post your pics?)
Just wondering how you guys fitted your race seats. I have Sparco Evo with the steel sidemount. Looking for ideas on how to fit them in my car (EG2). I currently have them sitting on a flat bar bolted / welded horizontaly accross the 2 seat runners (the seat is too narrow to bolt directly to the runners). I was gonna bolt them through the floor without runners, but its all corrugated an **** and it wont sit even. Also there is the front seat rail support thing that sticks up an inch or two where i need the front of the seat mount to be. Any ideas chaps? As i say i have got something in temp just now, but it sits too high and i dont need the adjustability or weight of the sliding runners?
Cheers lads.

I needed vertical clearance for my Evo 2 seat. So I cut and grinded the seat support rib out on the floor pan and I beat the crap out of the floor pan with a heavy hammer until it was suitable to install the seat mounts (non-slider type) directly to the floor pan.
A lot of work, cussing, and beating but I am glad I did it. First time I did it, took two people eight hours to get it installed. When I did my passenger seat for track work, it only took one person about 9 hours to do it.
Have fun.

Barry, I don't know exactly what you were facing in removing the support rib etc, so this may not help....but for my Miata I used a spot weld cutter (essentially a miniature hole saw) to cut out the spot welds holding the factory mounting brackets to the floor of my car.
For anyone removing brackets like that, it's WELL worth the $15. Got it from my local parts store.
