Would it be a good invention for company's to create carbon fiber side moldings? or is just a wacky idea?

moldings weigh like 5 lbs combined...

yeah thats why there are alot of pieces that weight under 5 lbs and are still made in carbon fiber. like lips weight like 2 lbs most. yeah and a carbon fiber lip is going to make a bigggg difference.

Well you can argue that a front lip ads down force. I think shaved side molding will look cleaner.

dont side moldings prevent some door dings? If you have CF moldings, it will crack

Well originaly cf lips were used b/c cf is light and strong. Especially applications like lips, fenders and bumpers.

Carbon <U>thin</U> side moldings would be cool on a black or dark colored car with other carbon objects like mirrors, hood, trunk/hatch...I dont think it would really look good on a light colored car like white or yellow
