Default Aftermarket Steering Wheels (Acutally, the hubs)

Did the required search and didn't come up with the answers that I was looking for.

Note - I did consider the benefits of having the airbag and I know it has saved lives.

Now, I noticed that there are "problems" with aftermarket hubs for our cars such as difficulty in retaining the horn. Is there a hub out there that retains use of the cable reel? I've seen on the Prelude and S2000 board that they sourced a hub which retains the cable reel and also has the correct resistor to keep the SRS light in check. I think it's the brand HKB? But these are my questions ...

1.) Any "detailed" information on connecting the horn in an aftermarket hub/steering wheel?
2.) Any other alternatives to the Momo hub? Will the OMP hub work with Momo wheels?
3.) Any additional information from the DC2/EG camp on the HKB Steering Boss? Anyone selling them here in the States?

The Momo hub will work with both Momo and Sparco wheels. I have been told that they will also work with OMP wheels (from a Sparco/OMP dealer). I can't confirm that. I have an OMP hub and I have no problems with it, but I'm not using the horn. I have never used any other wheel than OMP, but they should all fit, so I'm told.

I'm using the JDM Non-srs steering wheel and I don't have any problem to make the horn sound. I also using the same method to connect a horn with MOMO hub for a EG Civic and it sound too.

I never try/use OMP hub.....
I believe my JDM steering has a same hub design like the MOMO hub cuz my steering is made by MOMO.

Ahh geez he races one friggen day and already he wants a new steering wheel? J/K

Did you see the JDM wheel Rodney had in his red hatch? It's non-airbag but, is of a smaller diameter and I do like the feeling. I too have thought of doing a wheel but am as of yet undecided. I liked OMP's wheels, the Quadro was my favorite:

But, since driving his civic, I'm again just undecided and think I'll wait and save for the wheel and a race shell and install them at the same time.

Good luck, If it ain't a rainy forcast for Sunday, you know where I'll be.

A.

Hahaha! Fear my 44+ second runs

The one item that always bugged me about our cars is the steering wheel. It never felt right because of the size (feels like I'm turning the wheel of a Lincoln or something ).

I didn't pay much attention to the steering wheel in rodney's hatch since I was sort of drooling at the Sparco and Recaro seats he had in his car. I wonder if the shop he recommended could source that HKB steering hub/boss ...
