95 accord with heater fan problems

I have a 95 Accord that has a heater fan with a mind of its own. Recently the heater blower will not turn on when the fan **** is turned on. Occasionally it will start on its own as I am driving. Once it is on it will usually stay on, it is just when I start the car or if I turn it off that I have the problem. It almost seems like it could be a loose connection to the motor. Has anyone run across this problem before?

this sounds like the brushes in the motor are about worn out. You can give it the 'caveman' test nex ttime it doesn't start when you switch it on. Slap the bottom of it.
