Default Best Bang-For-The-Buck Headers??

You guys on this forum are a lot more responsive than "Tech" so thought I would rephrase my question about Headers:

Which header would be best in the bang for the buck category, given that SMSP may be the better overall? They look great and have great numbers but the sticker shock is there.

In other words, can we get 90% of the function for 40% of the price?

Also I have a built CRVTEC going into an '87 CRX Si so have severe clearance issues...

No. Maybe 60% at most.

SMSP's B20 header for your use would be the best IMO.

other than the fact that its way too restrictive for even moderately modded 1.8s

From charts that I have seen the JDM 4-1 does just fine for what you pay for.

So what make you guys think the Toda header is good for B20/VTEC set up? Is there a dyno graph somewhere? I know the Hytech and SMSP are proven to be awesome on the B20/VTEC set up, but never see any Toda header data on it.

How about large cams set up with B18C5?
I would say between Toda, SMSP, and Hytech? Which of the 3 will give best ground clearance? I am sick and tired of having my header dented big time!!

SMSP again
the only one to give you the best performance AND the best ground clearance.
of course, you'll have to ditch the silly block brace

Gee, in the Great Header test I thought that the Spoon header actually measured the most area under the curve! I'm not saying it is the best header out there but come on guys, don't you think it deserves mentioning?

Regards,

Quote for b20 header plus modded oil pan (Moroso ) is $1400! Still seems high when a Portflow head with all the goodies is less than that. Pics look good tho.The donor CRX was only $200!!!!!!

I can not get a read on the fit yet without the Moroso pan, would I be dragging on the ground with Ground Control coilovers and Tokico Illuminas???

Also, what about tacking on a muffler so I could be in the technically street legal category??

think what you want, but i only buy products that work the best.
and being that they are pretty close in price, i dont see why you would
choose the one that makes less power.
