Default Damaging fenders from to much travel?

I have RED shocks ( no not the color red), and arospeed coilovers, and I love the way it feels and drives. Any way, my question is I hit the bumbstops some times and I was thinking of lowering my shock a little bit in the front fork and getting the top hats so that I can get more shock travel. I have very little wheel gap, I can just fit my pinky finger in there, and when I take a turn on a bumpy parking lot or road i hear some scrapping on the fender, but its ok, but what i'm worried about is if I get more shock travel and I take a turn and hit a bump will the tire go straight up and crumple my fender? Did anyone have this problem? I don't wanna raise my car either. Cuz i'm actually thinking my bumb stops are saving my fenders from getting damaged.

The sound is most likely your tire hitting the inner fender liner. I must say though, your chances of getting any real soloutions to your problem would increase 10 fold if you listed a few more facts (like these):

Make:
Model:
Year:
Tire Size:
Wheel Offset:

I'm not joking either. This stuff is really important, and all makes a difference...

Well i thought it was a simple question, sorry I didn't know or I would have gave you all the other info.
Its a 98 Honda Civic LX with 17" rims and 205/40/r17 tires. I also have the ingalls camber kit on the front. I'm not sure of the offset, because a guy I know bought these rims brand new for his 00 si and hevdidn't like the way they looked on his car so i bought them. Before when I had the bad neg camber it didn't rub, cuz the wheels were tilted in, but now they are pretty much straight up and down they scrape the fender. And my inner fender liner is torn up, its half burned off from the wheels, its definitley rubbin on the fender, cuz when I felt and looked up its clean metal (no paint) on the bottom. I'm not too worried about the scrapeing but if you have a solution for that too let me know, but what i'm really concerned about is messing up my fenders if I get the extra travel. Thanks

I had a similar problem like what you described. I just removed my fender and bend the inner lip inward, just the section that was rubbing. Problem solved. I recommend you take the fender out, it makes the job much easier and you'll have a less chance of damaged the paint on top. I don't have any issues with either fenders anymore and the inside liner is fine too.

This is one of the main reasons why I'm not a fan of camber kits. I'm lowered a lot (2.75"-3"), and I have no problems with tire wear at all. If you legthen the UCA with a camber kit, you run into a lot of problems. Tires rubbing are just one, but did you also know the UCAs can bang against the shock tower causing dents & holes...

Keep an eye out for that...

Well, ok, before i had the camber kit I was buying 2 new front tires every year and I only drive in the summer. so they wore out fast. So i had to get the camber kit cuz now i'm on my 3rd year with the same tire and its wearing out evenly. But will my fenders crumple if i get the extra shock travel. And How are you on a 2.75-3" drop with no camber kit and even tire wear? I really wanna know!!! cuz my rear tires have a little neg camber and they are wearing out perfectly even too, they look brand new and just have the washers in the back to fix the camber.

Toe settings...

If you do not have Zero toe, it will cause a scrubbing effect on the cambered edge. If the toe is set properly, you won't get the scrubbing effect. With the toe set properly, any of the hard cornering you may do will counteract any inner edge (camber) wear by wearing the outer edge of the tires. Simple...

My BFG Euro TA tires (205/40/16) with a treadwear rating of 340, lasted over 40k miles at that low of a ride height on my 94cx...
