identifying type-r springs
I picked up a set of struts and spring used the other day and was told they are ITR.
When i pulled the springs off the struts the rears look the same but the fronts are different sizes. Are there marks or something to identify them as ITR? any help would be appreciated.

The pics aren't so good in this thread. I know there are three pastel colors (lavender is the only one I can remember) marked on the top of each spring. I'll see if I can take a better pic for you later.

Also, they are about 1" short than GS-R springs.
Lastly, IIRC, the number of coil/turns for the front spring is 9.5-10. GS-R has 11-12 coils/turns.
The main point is that the ITR springs are shorter, less coils and has markings.
The following picture (bad pic) is the ITR springs/shocks that I sold a while back. You can probably still count the number of coils in the spring. I don't know if the colored markings will show up.

Front and rear are different size. The rears are a bit shorter and have the rubber coating at the top of the springs. Fronts and rears should be the same length in respect to each other. Here are better pics of the ITR Springs on the shocks.

2 of the springs.....the ones i took off the rear struts have lt. blue, white, dark blue paint matks on them. The fronts dont have any marks. Is there a place online somewhere to put in the part numbers from the struts to find out what they originally came off of?

From this pic.... you can see that the rear damper has 2 or 3 coils closer to the top and that denotes it is a progressive spring.
Simply count the coils shown in this pic and it will tell you whether or not your coils are ITR.
They are unlike ANY of the USDM DC2 springs.
ITR springs = front linear, rear progressive.
