OT: Anybody ever go to one of those sports car rental places?
I am turning 25 next week and I was thinking of renting a Porsche or Ferrari or something similar for a week or so. Anybody ever done this? Anything I need to know ahead of time or is it just like renting a normal car?
I looked into it for my senior Prom but I wasn't 25 so they said no. I do plan on doing it myself though when I turn 25. Let us know. As for just like the normal car, no you have to have special ins coverage.
Hope you have deep pockets - a Ferrari will cost you ~$599 and up per day on a 3-6 day rental.

When I was in Vegas a few years ago they had Vipers from $300 a day which wasn't bad. The 360's were like $450 per day IIRC. A full week rental?! Damn...
Based on 1300$ per day for the Ferrari 360, If you rent one for a week, you could buy yourself a turbo civic, or half of an ITR... Ouch...

They may require a heavy deposit and you'll need special insurance coverage(as Dave mentioned above).
Other than that, just open your wallet and keep it open for a while.

A few years ago, I rented an NSX in Vegas from a similar outfit (not the one in the link). It was the most god-awful NSX I've ever seen, with many parts loose or missing, no jack in the trunk (but it wouldn't have done any good because the lug nuts were mismatched i.e. not all 19 mm), mismatched tires, loose hood hinge, loose shift ****, missing trim pieces, etc. Just miserable. Of course, it was perfect for my needs, since I took it to Pahrump for that town's second most popular tourist activity

Just make sure you dont crash it... One rental place I was looking at had deductables of more than half the value of the cars
