I know that my Honda needs 5" speakers for the doors. My question is where can I find 5" aftermarket speakers? They seem hard to find. Also, is there anything else I should know about installing these?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried Circuit City. They only have 5 1/4" and 6 1/2" speakers.

Any other suggestions?

Crutchfield (sp) should have them...... you should be able to fit 5 1/4 in there though...

 

my car only came with 3 inch in the doors, and I have 6 1/2 in there now, they mount with a bracket of some sort

 

once you take off your door panel you will see:

Once you remove that huge plastic housing (which does a great job of making such a small speaker sound pretty good considering) there is a hole that a 6.5 would fit perfectly in, I went to the dealer and purchased a speaker basket for a 93 DX/LX (oddly enough the lower models came with a larger speaker). The pioneer speakers I bought fit perfectly in the baskets which are made to sheild the speakers from water. Anyhow that's my .02 on the subject, I would NOT suggest finding speakers that would fit in the plastic enclosure as they are made specifically for the speakers that Honda stuck in them. Sorta like bose speakers, if you take them out of the wave radio i bet they would sound like crap.
