Default Tire change cost

Well the other day I got a wood nail lodged in my rear tire it's a oe dunlop d220, decent tire and so I went online (after the dealer told me he could get me one for ONLY 180) and bought it for 99.21 shipped. Well seeing how the dealer would've beat me in the head for the tire I will shop around for the shop to change it but I need to know how much is the going price for a mount and balance on a 160 60 17 and I am very mechanically capable so let me know how much you guys average on a mount and balance for the wheel already off the bike.

Short version : What's the average cost of mount and balance for a 17" rear wheel already off the bike.

If you take the wheel into them, off the bike, it's only like $15 or something like that.

Why not call a place!?!? Honestly people why is it so difficult to pick up a phone? What is with H-T lately and all these stupid threads like prices on insurance quotes, tire mounting, etc. Pick up a phone for a REAL answer.

/Rant.

I don't think he's just wondering how much it costs, I think he's asking whats a good price. If you don't have a baseline to run off of, $67.54 could sound like a deal.

Well all i'm saying is why not call 5 different places around the area and choose the cheapest? Because what one costs in one area won't necessarily be the same as another area.

True story.

Far too many people want to be spoon fed everything these days.

Come on man don't come with that crap.... it was a simple question to establish a basleine or at least give me an idea of what to expect... I am not new to the site or hondas or mechanical work but I am new to motorcycles their is no need to bash...

I'm sure no one bashed you when you asked "What motors come in which crx's?" when you were new to crx's although it would've been easier for everyone to say why don't you search the web but instead they gave you great answers...
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1050239

But apparently the longer some people are around HT they become all knowing and too good to answer a simple question...
If you feel you are above the question simply don't answer, no need to belittle me.

So to you B30M87A I appologize for lowering the HT standards by trying to gather input from the members so I can know what to expect in a purchase and keep myself from getting screwed because I settled for the best of only 3 or 4 people when I could've saved more with the advice of one of the not so uptight HT members.....

Rant ......Over

Well now that that is done maybe I should rephrase the question...

Just out of curiosity with no personal gain to myself intended ....How much have you all in the past paid for a tire mounting and balancing for a motorcyle tire?

Thanks in advance

I paid $80 on my old bike... I would've done the bring in the wheel by itself but the rear was being a pain to remove so I said screw it. sometimes I think it's worth it to just pay the money to get it done instead of having to deal with all the crap of trying it myself... I think wheels by itself was like $20 or so... per wheel...

It was more of a general rant, not just aimed at you. But my point was just call up the place.
