Problems installing comptech rear sway bar - LCA bolts won't go in! Please HELP!
I'm tryin to install the rear lower sway bar/tie combo and i can't seem to get the lower control arm bolts to go back in. When I put them in they won't go in straight, and after i put them in as far as they can go, when i turn them, i keep turning it forever and it doesn't go in.
Has anyone had problems with this? If i don't get this fixed i'm basically screwed tomorrow because I don't have anyway to get to work or school.
Has anyone that's installed this before had this problem? Please help!!!

i got to get another person to help you with this. all you got to really do is get the second person to wiggle the wheel around while you try to put in the LCA bolt. this is one of the ways to line up the holes
i was able to get that part done by myself, i used a jack to lift up the LCA then i put the bolt in. but now i have another problem, i'm installing the end links and the bolt that comptech gave me won't go all the way in. i got it all the way in on one side, but on the other side i can't get it all the way in..
man this is frusterating!

if only i knew how to weld...
well i ended up getting it all installed last night. i'm just a little confused at how the comptech sway bar is able to work. the way it attaches to the LCA's is different than the stock bar, it looks like it wouldn't be as rigid as say a stock ITR one

Well I'll be captain obvious and just point out that the holes on the lca and sub-frame are not lined up correctly thus your dilemma. Use a thick screw driver and put it in the hole and try to align the two parts as straight as possible.

Glad you got it...I remember running into alot of fitment issues putting on my skunk2 lower tie bar for my DC.
yeah, this is the biggest DIY project i've tackled so far on my integra, i'm learning!
Glad to hear that it worked out for you. I had the same problem as you did when I installed mine. I ended up using a pry bar instead of a jack but it worked just the same. I thought that I was gonna have it done in 10mins and it took me 2hrs.
I installed front and rear strut tower bars at the same time as the lower tie bar and I definitely noticed a difference. A lot stiffer in the twisties. Not sure how much of that was from the lower tie bar though.
honestly, i don't even really notice anything that drastic, but i don't corner very hard that often anyway. i'd like to throw an upper tie in the back as well and see how that works out.
whats the point of getting a rear sway bar if you dont turn hard often? i just put my ST rear bar and i cant stop turning hard, its fun in the canyons now, and i wanna goto the track
i guess i have a reason to turn hard now
would rim size affect cornering? right now i have some 18" rims with low profile 35 series tires. i am planning on down grading to probably a 15" with a bigger tire, probably 45 or 50 series. is this going to make my cornering better or worse?

well seeing as a stiffer rear sway bar will make easier to let the rear end come out from ya....say under "throttle lift" situations i can understand why people dont turn hard all the time.
BTW ru_rocket why did you weld in you bar? can you still get the LCA bolts off?
