Default No fuel pressure, pump primes...

I have a 1990 Rs teg, mildly built ls/vtec.

Stock injectors
B&M regulator
stock pump
vafc

Got it tuned 2 weeks ago.

Anyway heres my problem, last week 2 nights in a row after drive my car. I'd let it sit for an hour or so, the car was still warm...The car would idel for a few seconds then die, and wouldn't start again for 5-10 min. Then it would run fine. I replaced the fuel filter, it was fine for 2 days. Then today went out to the car and it wouldn't start. My relay clicks on and off, and the relay is less then 2 years old(brand new at that time). I can heard the fuel pump prime/turn on, i removed the back seat for a better listen. I ran a wire directly from the battery to the pump and it runs fine, but i have no pressure. I have a fuel pressure gauge reading 0, and i took the feed line off and theres nothing coming out.

I need some ideas on what to check, i was under the impression that if my pump was bad i wouldn't hear it turn on. But i guess it mite just not be pumping?

If i get a new pump, should i just go witha walbro 255 or a stock replacement. My stock pump has never been replaced as far as i know it has around 210k miles on it, i think the addtional fuel added during the tune mite have done it in.

Either the pump is broken somewhere on the inside, and it's not pumping, or you have a leak, or you don't have any gas in the tank.

I would suggest replacing the pump, unless you don't have any fuel in the tank.

yea i know about the b&m, i clamped the return line and it still didnt build any pressure. Ill switch out to my stocker before i actually drop the tank for the pump replacement.

I have 3/4 tank of gas which sucks for me now.

Never had any problems with my B&M FPR. I've had mine for about a year and a half now. Not the 1st problem.

remember the fuel regulator just causes a restriction at the end of the fuel rail...this is the only way to build pressure...restriction to flow....so if the regulator is stuck open the fuel will just go in and out of the rail..

Good point, I never knew that! Well, I never actually looked at it that way, but that may be the problem.

yea but i clamped the return line and it still didnt build any pressure, on top of taking the feed line off with no fuel.

I changed the regulator back to stokc and it didnt help, i also did all the test with the multi meter to the MFR, and it was fine.

Ill be ordering a pump tomorrow i guess.

replaced the pump today, and i got pressure back and the car runs good.

I noticed on the new pump theres a little pin in the middle of where the outlet hose connects, well on my stock one that was missing, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

and boy are these walbros a little noisy.
