Headlights work in daytime but not at night
My son has a "piece" of a '93 accord. It has a lot of problems but the most annoying one is the pop up headlights. Why do they sometimes work and sometimes not. For instance, he goes to his girlfriend's before it gets dark and when he leaves at night, the headlights won't pop up nor will they illuminate. His girlfriend has to bring him home but when he goes to get the car the next morning, the lights pop up and come on just fine. That is sooooo weird. When he doesn't go to his girlfriends and just runs up to the store at night and back, the lights work fine. What can he do besides stop going to his girlfriends house!
P.S. All the fuses look fine.

when you said "pop up".... i can't understand. The 93 accord didn't flip it's headlights.
If it is a older model (which i believe would be since your saying "pop") it could be an electrical problem. Might want to have it checked, but check with a least 3 diffrent places to make sure they all agree at finding the correct problem!

try raiseing the headlights ( look in the engine bay for a *** you can turn) turn them up and then turn the lights on if the headlights turn on its the headlights motor and if they dont its the headlight or a bad conection
Has there been any electrical repairs performed which correspond with the start of this thing?
I suspect that it has nothing to do with either the door actuators, nor the headlamps themselves, but rather the control system itself. my reasoning?
Statistically, the odds are against both actuators and both bulbs intermittently failing in sync.
If it sometimes fails in the daylight, and sometimes at night, I'd suspect either the headlamp switch, or a relay I suspect is in the circuits somewhere.
If it never fails in daylight, but always fails at night, I suspect somethings been wired wrong; possibly during a related electrical problem.
If I can find my 3rd gen service manual, I'll elaborate further.

For now, keep the headlights up at all times. There should be a switch on the dash, near the hazard lights I believe, that will raise the headlights. When night comes, see if the headlights will turn on using the headlight swtich. This should help you determine if the problem involves the actuators or not.
when they don't come on wiggle the headlite switch in all direction see if that helps ...i have seen a lot of combo switches go bad on 86-89 accords
