An update on an alternative to the $200 B16 A/C bracket
ok, yesterday i did some experimenting in the garage and heres what i found.
someone tell me if they've tried this and had success. I have the A/C brackets from both an SIR B16 and an integra XSi B16. If your civic was equipped with the sanden A/C compressor and you have the XSi A/C bracket, two of the bolt holes on the compressor will line up. The other two are slightly off. I am now in the process of trying to fabricate something that will support the back of the compressor since its the front two bolts that line up. With some minor modification to the compressor housing it appears that you might be able to get two of the holes to line up on the SIR bracket as well. The other compressor offered with the civic matsushita? i think it is, will not fit at all. The housing of the compressor is too big and it will not line up with any of the bolt holes in the SIR or the XSI bracket. I'll try to post some pics this evening

Is it true you can use an integra bracket? I think i heard that somewhere, eh if anyones interested i have an ac compressor and a bracket for sale off a 90 ls.
I do believe you can, But that would require either having your stock lines modified, or making new lines, you would also need the ends from the integra lines. Seems like it would be cheaper just buying the bracket, unless you have an XSi bracket and a Sanden compressor. How do you upload pics here anyway so I can post a pic of the compressor/bracket?
