A quick question
I looked back at the past threads, and it seems that the main reason people got the FAL fans is to fit a bigger radiator. Aside from its smaller form factor, does it have any performance benifits over the OEM shrouded fans?
Does it help cool the engine better?
-Secondly, These seem to be puller fans, and I read conflicting statements saying that they polarity can and cannot be reversed. CAN they in fact be reversed to make them into pusher fans? If so, what is the process? Do I have to chop the plugs off and reattach them backwards, or are people simply mounting the whole assembly backwards?
-Finally, I've never mounted fans on any car. I am assuming its not too involved of a process. How easy/hard is it? How long would it take someone who has never done this?
Any response (except flames or sarcasm) will be appreciated.

more air than any other fan it cools down the car faster ,the looks is nice and about polarity i dont know i saw one but have'nt have one yet but if the case is that push air than extract it put it in the front of yo radiator
the fan will not work the way it is intended to work if you switch the polarity. it's obvious when you look at the profile of the fan blades.
by the way. a flexalite fan is EXACTLY the same.. same CFM last time i checked.. and looks the same too!! it just doesn't come with the fancy brackets or the oem style plug. it's your money though.
to answer your last question - the FAL is strait forward.. i bet it comes with fancy instructions too. As for the flexalite, it comes with special zip ties that go through the rad fins.. you'll know what to do.

the fal fan is made by flex a lite they are they same thing..one of them (the fal ) is direct fit and as factory plugs the other (flex a lite) is unaversal fit and need to be hard wired.same fans one is cheaper then the other and they both work great..most poeple that use them need them for the tight space left by installing a turbo...i see no need to change from stock fans unless there is no room for them..

I bought the fal dual fan setup not because I wanted to run a bigger radiator, but because I didn't want to hack up the stock shrouds to make room for the turbo. They have been excellent and have performed flawlessly for over 4 years. They are advertised to flow 30% more than stockers, I believe it. I have never had any overheating issues, even after 18 runs at the dragstrip, one after another. I run the factory stock radiator.
contact b18bturbo, he has 10" 12" for 55 and 60 dollars. there push/pull slim fans, which im gonna get here very soon. spending over 200 dollars for fans is ridiculous.

I just got a 12'' slimfan for 50 bucks shipped on ebay.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Been there done that, electrical connectors on the fans them selves melted and the plastic on the fans was starting to melt also from being by the turbo. Got fal pusher/puller fans and no problem.
There are some models that the polrity can reversed and then there are some that are direction specific, make sure u specify what u want when u buy them.

ne1 else?
ne1 else?
Mirai -- If you do not want to chop your wire harness you can do what I did when I installed my old C&R radiator with a SPAL fan. I made an adapter mating a plug from a junkyard Honda to the appropriate plug for the fan. Cost -- $3 (fan plug from the boneyard was free and the 2-pack of plugs cost me 200yen from Autobacks. I did this because I knew I would be upgrading to a new car eventually.
Jan 12-16 I will be in Tokyo for TAS so we need to find a way to hangout this time.
Oh yeah, SPAL funs are damn good too
If you are looking for a new rad/fan combo, my C&R/SPAL combo needs a new home.
