Im about to go from ashy to classy: The ED9 Restoration in progress---pic intensive
So I will start this story by saying how when I sold my Integra nearly a year before I swore that I was done with Hondas. That I was never getting another one, and that if I were to I would never waste my money by modding one. Well call me a liar.
In Feburary of 2005 I came across a 91 CRX DX that someone was in the process of converting into a race car. It had a b16a with an exedy clutch/flywheel combo, chepo intake, DC 4-2-1 header and MSD blaster coil pack w/dist. cap. The guy only wanted $1700 for the whole car as he needed to abondon the project. I bought the car sight unseen for $1700 and towed it (bad wiring) to a friends house. I put the car on eBay and sold the shell for $450 with nothing in it. i sold various other parts for $300 and I now have only $950 into the engine. Good deal I'd say. The swap was also installed by my friend Chad so I knew it was a quality job.

Then one day in early March I got a call from Anthony (precisionh23a) saying how our friend's cousin was selling his CRX for $900 and how I should pick it up. We pulled around the corner to look at it and I knew then I was buying it. I didn't even try to lower the price. $900 and it was mine; An 89 CRX si with Si wheels and near perfect interior. However the exterior was kinda UGH, the clear coat was peeling and it had a few dents in it. I loved it.
This is how it sat at the guys house.

I was in school and working full time so I had no time to do the swap, so I drove the si around with it smoking like a cheap hooker. Then one day I decided to take it to Charlotte, got 86 miles from home and had the engine drop a valve, and thus royally ******* the engine over. I then got my AAA 100 mile tow to my house where the car would sit until July. This was sometime in Late March, early April.

In July I decided it was time to get the car to run. So with the help of some of my friends we put the engine in and I was off in VTEC in no time. I was excited.

The car had a few issues with distributors but we can live with that. Then about a month ago I got a wild hair up my *** that I was going to save this poor soul of a CRX as I have always loved them. Then, like he was listening to my prayers to get the car done, my friend Jeremy called me asking me if I'd be interested in changing the clutch in his Ranger. Jeremy paints cars for a living so I asked him about the trade and it was on like Donkey Kong. I get a paint job and he gets a clutch installed and we both buy our own materials. WOO HOO.
Before this would take place I started spending money like a moron. I bought the following:

Not pictured: Muteki Lugs, Blitz DTT turbo Timer, rear disc conversion, ITR front Caliper conversion, Bigger rear sway, 1" MC and 260 BB, Kens custom chassis roll cage.
Then last week Jeremy called me up and said it was time to do the clutch and he could paint my car woo ******* HOO!!!! But he'd have to do it at home, oh well. I know hes a good painter. *Note-Clutches are hard as expletive in a ranger when you have no lift, but still worth a paint job!!!

Then Thursday I get the call my car is done. YAY!!!!! So here is how it came out, it still needs to be buffed but I am very excited about it either way. The colors are Torch Red from the Chevy SSR and Phantom Grey from the 92-95 Civic CX.

I think it looks awesome!!
Anyways so whats in store for it? When I am putting everything on? Well the coilovers are on already and they ride as one would expect them too. The turbo and everything else will be going on this week hopefully and I will update this thread with as many pictures of the progress as I can.
Thanks for looking.
Oh yeah. I have this block that says c5 waiting for the AEBS treatment.
