Got an idea, don't know if it already exists...
I was looking at the posted picture when I came up with an idea. However since I'm a noob I have no idea if it already exists. See the line across the tail end where the second seat would be? I think it would be awesome if you could just lift that piece off to reveal an actual second seat. I think bikes look better without the second seat, but sometimes it's nice to have the second seat. So, you just keep the top on most the time, but if you happen to have a passenger, just take it off and set it aside. Sorry if this sorta contraption already exists, just delete this thread so I don't look so retarded

i am gonna have to say that is whats there considering there is rear foot pegs. i am pretty sure on all ducati monoposto's (single seaters) there is no rear foot pegs.
only problem is that you wouldn't have any trunk space. but i bet you won't be missing much, my friends zx-6r can't hold ****.
This reminds me of that post about "why do all these bitches take one headlight out of their bike??!?!?!?!"
I'm like 99% sure there is a seat under that plastic piece to which you refer. If it weren't already invented though, you'd be a millionaire man.....try again.

Yeah I bet there's a seat under the plastic.. my girlfriends dad's motoguzzi came with one stock, you just pop it off when you want to ride 2up.
The 12R's have that set-up stock - the rear cowl fits over the rear seat (as opposed to completely removing the seat to install a separate cowl).
It would appear that the 14 will continue with that type of rear cowl and I'd imagine they'll charge the customer to get one.
