Default vavle adjustment

so just recently mr engine developed a very light ticking. I can even haer it at low rmps when i drive, but it is not loud. Even when i open the hood and listen to it, its not loud. My friends tell me that i need a valve adjustment or maybe one of the stems could be ben slightly...my car has 130k mi and it has the stock stems and i dont know when was the last time it had a a valve adjustment so i guess i will have it looked at. About how much does a full vavle adjustment cost? and if i wanted to change all stems? any of you suggest changing the stems?

Valve adjustment cost about 5 dollars for a feeler set and 15 for a valve cover gasket. And 20 mins of your time. What do you mean by valve stems? Did you mean valve stem seals or guides? Either way unless you burn oil you will be fine. Just do the lash and I bet that fixes it right up.

well i was told its called the vavle stem...the thing that looks like a "T" and it gets pushed in by the cam to let in air and release exhaust. Sorry if i sound very noobish at this...anyways if i replace them if i have to, should i just get stock gsr ones or go for type r or titanium?

as far as oil...only when i use vtec a lot, which is kinda often every week, so i would say i give it about half quart every two weeks.

95% it's your valves are out of adjustment. if you bent your valve, you would lose compression and vehicle would not run as smooth. here's a article from team-integra:

next time try searching in the archives. this topic was just covered not too long ago.
