Default 94 Honda Accord Lx

94 Honda Accord LX 2.2l SOHC (not a v-tec). I replaced the sparkplugs but when i took out #3, i noticed that the socket piece was covered in oil when i removed it from the hole, and so was the head of the spark plug when i took it out of the wrench bit. each time i put the socket bit into the hole it came out doused in oil. not sure what the implications of this problem are.... can someone help me?

This thread explains everything you need. However some people say to try changing just the oil tube seals under the valve cover first and see if that solves the problem. If not you need to do the major o-ring job. The ball is in your court, so to speek.

This may not apply to your engine. I know it does for 90-93. Someone else may have to confirm it for your engine. Are you sure it's a 94, I haven't heard of this happening to 94s before?

You need to get DH or P to reply to your problem then, so they can verify.

If the Valve Cover Gasket has never been changed (since you bought it), now might be the time to entertain the thought of having the valves adjusted while it's apart. (periodic maintaince item).
To do the valve cover gasket job, it requires several parts to ensure you don't have to re-do anything. they are:
1) Valve Cover Gasket (#5)
2) Spark Plug well 'O' Rings (#7)
3) Valve gover grommets (#15)

They are all part of #1 Kit
