Default I want a PROFESSIONAL to do my swap......any SOCAL recommendations?

I want a professional Honda mechanic, experienced in swaping Honda engines to do my swap. Last time I tryed a swap using a lame Honda tech KID who stole my engine and money......

I'm restoring my 91 CRX Si (last week a 1 ton van backed half way up my hood
and now I need to replace hood, fender, and front bumper, and repaint)

The engine I will be swapping in: A JDM D15B 3 stage Vtec.........this guy
is hard to find............but I will find a good one.....

My understanding is this swap requires converting:
a. to odb2.................A custom built wiring harnes will do this
b. new ecu, use ecu from D15B 3 stage Vtec engine.
c. This Vtec needs a module on the tranny to tell the Vtec when to kick in?

All else, the D15B is a direct bolt on.

This swap is easier than most in terms of grunt work but requires a smart mind when it comes to Vtec and wiring.

Any mechanic/garage recommendations for this swap?

I live in Westminster Calif....

Thanks

i have done that swap in a 98 civic (guy spun a rod bearing and need a stock eplacement) but i didnt have the d15b ecu (the motor isnt rare or hard to get) so i changed the intake and vtec solinoid over and used the stock vtec ecu, it ran great. there is no need in keeping this 3 stage vtec, with a car as light as yours is you will not gain that much mpg. and usually when people do swaps it is for performance and a couple of mpg doesnt matter. a d15b is a fuel mileage, lean burn engine not that much performance.

Thanks for the info!

From what I've read though, the D15B 3-stage would make significant diff in gas
mileage when I drive under 3000 rpm.

With the same engine in a 95 Civic VX (this Civic is 2096lbs, similar to weight as my CRX) the milage rating is 47 mpg city and 56 mpg Hwy! Acutal milage for the VX is probably 10% less than this but thats still really high.

The Civic VX has the 1.5 with Vtec-E.

The D15B 3 stage is in Vtec-E mode under 3000rpm......

Who is the best JDM engine source for this D15B 3 stage vtec? Hmotor has not
gotten back to me yet on this request, probably not on there A list engine list...
