its going to chip and look like **** in a month...paint doesnt stick to alum. you need either powder coat...still tends to chip or anodize which is really expensive. i would just send it to a polish shop and have it buffed out. that would look sick.

I used paint for aluminum. It went thru 3 coats of primer and two of paint and 2 clear

buy this stuff called cast blast.. I paint my blocks with it and it lasts looks really good also

Yea, there have to be paints that stick and hold cuase when I delivered parts to machine shops, I always saw the guy painting some of the blocks aluminum color.

I think it would be cool to get some custom made aluminum paint and paint the block to match the outside color of your car.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but does anyone have a pic of a black block w/ black tranny? Also what would you reccomend covering up when painting the transmission?

I'm not a huge fan of silver painted blocks, it looks super artificial. Black w/ a clear would be dope.

acutally if u go to a home depot or any fixer uper home store and get grill paint it matches super close to looking unpainted. its a satin silver

my very first gsr swap about 4 years ago



block head and tranny painted. people would always ask me how i got the motor so clean like that. well its impossible unless u paint it
