What header and exhaust gives the most power with the least noise/buzz?
I am breaking down and wanting more power from the old ep3. My wife wont let me do the a2 swap right now, but for some womanly reason she doesnt object to bolt ons. I would like to use high quality bolt ons, so that when I do the swap I will already have a nice i/h/e/k-pro. I know BarracksSi had good results using an RSXS header/cat and Fujitsubo RM-01A exhaust. That setup sounds pretty good, I would also be open to a race header, but I dont have experience with race headers. This car is my dd, so I dont want it to be incredibly loud. As mentioned I do want to stay with quality parts, but want to also find the best deal. I guess I pretty much want everything: more power, good quality, not very loud and as cheap as possible.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

Are you using the stock cat? Have you had it on a dyno? How much did that stuff set you back?
Sorry for the rapid fire questions. Thanks for the help!

twin loop - either mugen or hytech

I had a twinloop on my 4dr gsr...then my civic hatch. I have a hytech TL coming now for my ek hatch - b/c ek mugen TL has a bottleneck (2.25" loop piping) which would not work go when your aiming for 275whp k20

im running a dc5 race header with dc5 apexi midpipe welded to my stock muffler sounds slightly louder than stock not loud at all...

yes, I'm running stock cat (I like to keep it quiet and away from Cops' attention). No, my EP has never seen the dyno but hopefully very soon.. They cost me around $800 for both..
I plan to have it dynoed soon as I can at my friend's shop so I can get some discount$$..
I really don't want to pay anymore than $30..yeah.. I'm cheap...
anyways, soon as I get dynoed, I post up the numbers so just keep looking..

I've had the same plan as you, putting on nice i/h/e to be ready for a swap (if I really decide to do one, that is).
Sound-wise, it's a little boomy on the highway, but when I gave a neighbor a ride, she asked if I had put it on yet. I haven't ridden in an EP with a modified exhaust to compare it to, though.
Other guys that have had the RM-01A with race header/test pipe say it's not buzzy or overly loud, that it still sounds pretty mellow. I haven't heard them in person, though. I may try a test pipe sometime just to see what it's like; if it's an easy installation, I might swap one in & out for track days.
The only obvious sign that it's a modified exhaust is the shiny stainless steel and 3.5" tip. It sounds like just a sporty-ish stock exhaust. A CAI or AEM V2 is definitely louder, especially in higher RPM's.
